The GS Edition refines the Reference 5 with three clear upgrades: Newly developed high-frequency system, Revised crossover with Mundorf MKP capacitors and gold-plated WBT nextgen™ connection terminals with bi-wiring and bi-amping options. The result: an audibly more precise, controlled, and maturely tuned reference experience.

The Reference 5 GS Edition combines state-of-the-art chassis technology with consistent fine-tuning in every detail – developed with great attention to detail and the aim of getting even more out of an already excellent floorstanding loudspeaker. Under the direction of company founder Günther Seitz, it has been refined with selected high-end components: The newly developed DLC tweeter system from the Reference Alpha series with diamond-coated DLC dome ensures exceptional transparency and the finest resolution. The high-quality crossover with selected Mundorf MKP components guarantees clean signal separation and maximum fidelity, while the proven Room Compensation technology enables precise adaptation to the room and listening preferences. Gold-plated WBT nextgen™ connection terminals ensure a permanently stable, low-loss connection and also offer the option of bi-wiring and bi-amping – for even more control and sonic superiority. The Reference 5 GS Edition also makes a clear statement visually: the exclusive “Sand” color variant has a warm, modern, and luxurious look – underlining the special appeal of this special edition

DLC tweeter

The new high-frequency system with diamond-coated DLC dome ensures extremely precise and clear reproduction of high frequencies. The additionally integrated, newly developed sound lens acts as a wave guide and mechanical air cushion. It optimizes efficiency and significantly expands the high-frequency range—for an airy, spacious soundstage and finely resolved details that bring music to life.

High-end crossover

The crossover used in the Reference 5 GS Edition has been completely redesigned and equipped with high-quality MKP capacitors from Mundorf, one of the world's leading manufacturers of audiophile components. These selected components ensure minimal losses and maximum sound fidelity. The result: a balanced, phase-stable sound image with impressive dynamics, authenticity, and fine detail.

Gold-plated connectors

The newly designed connection terminal of the Reference 5 GS Edition is equipped with gold-plated WBT nextgen™ connection terminals – durable, low-loss, and ideally suited for bi-wiring or bi-amping. High-quality, hard-gold-plated copper bridges are included for classic operation. Thanks to integrated RC technology (Room Compensation), the level of the midrange and tweeters can be adjusted in 1.5 dB increments. This allows you to tailor your speakers precisely to your room acoustics and listening preferences.
