Sound potential with update

The Reference 5 K uses the same features and technical configuration as the Reference 3 K, but differs in that it has a modified appearance with an even slimmer cabinet and smaller overall dimensions. In addition, this special edition was equipped with the nextgen™ WBT connection technology. With a height of 107 centimetres, it is nevertheless a very impressive floorstanding loudspeaker, with top-quality technology and the very finest Canton sound. The noble surface finish is sheer intoxicating, making the well-proportioned Canton Reference 5 K an eye-catcher in any living room. In the slim 3-way speakers, the two 219 mm ceramic tungsten bass drivers ensure unleashed dynamics and enormous low bass. Thanks to the low-loss wave surrounds that clamp the midrange and woofer, and the superbly resolving ceramic tweeter, the Reference 5 K also impress with their excellent fine dynamics at low volumes. The acoustically optimised enclosures with their curved side walls and rounded edges ensure ideal dispersion characteristics.

Great musical art

The Reference 5 K benefits immensely from the solid, multi-stiffened cabinets made of multi-layer laminate, which keep sound-reducing resonances away from the speaker drivers used. For bass and midrange, we use our most technically advanced drivers. We use the excellent material properties of aluminium-ceramic diaphragms refined with tungsten particles, which are characterised by their enormous rigidity combined with high internal damping - and all this at very low weight and extended frequency range. The excellent 25 mm dome tweeter with aluminium oxide ceramic diaphragm is used in the high frequencies. Sound-optimised crossover components and the highly effective base construction with Bass Guide ensure the highest possible fidelity. The Reference 5 K is equipped with a high-quality biwiring/biamping connection terminal, allowing the bass and midrange to be driven separately with different amplifiers or with specialised cables. 24-carat gold-plated, stable screw terminals with a capacity for cable cross-sections of up to 10 mm2 ensure optimum signal transmission. The levels for the mid- and high-frequency ranges can be sensitively adjusted at the connection terminal, depending on personal preferences or room acoustic conditions.

Classy appearance

We develop and manufacture the loudspeaker systems of our Reference K Series in our factory in Weilrod in the Taunus region. This is the only way we can maintain the necessary quality standards, minimise tolerances, eliminate any faults and keep the high sound demands on our top products. The Reference 5 K cabinets are made of high-quality multi-layer laminate and undergo a complex finishing process: the high-gloss "Piano Finish" surface sealant is applied, sanded and elaborately polished in twelve steps. It gives the Reference 5 K cabinet an overwhelming sense of depth. As an alternative, we offer the Reference 5 K in an even more refined and visually truly impressive version: the cabinets in cherry real wood veneer with "Piano Finish" are pure craftsmanship and inspire with their lively grain and warm colour tone. Acoustically optimised fabric covers, which are elegantly held in place on the baffle by magnetic fasteners, round off the noble appearance with aplomb.

WBT nextgen™ terminals

The Reference 5 K are not only outstanding floorstanding speakers in terms of sound quality and design, but also offer innovative connection options, with the option of bi-wiring or bi-amping. With the high-quality WBT nextgen™ binding posts, the Reference 5 K ensure optimal signal transmission to the connected audio equipment. Thanks to the hard gold-plated copper bridges supplied, you can exploit the full potential of the speakers should the bi-wiring or bi-amping mode not be used.
