Refernce 9 GS Edition

More refinement. More control. More GS.
The GS Edition refines the Reference 9 with three distinctive upgrades: a newly developed high-frequency system, a revised crossover network with Mundorf MKP capacitors, and gold-plated WBT nextgen™ binding posts. The result is a clearly more precise, controlled and refined Reference experience.

The Reference 9 GS Edition combines advanced driver technology with carefully executed fine-tuning. The newly developed high-frequency system with diamond-coated DLC dome delivers exceptional transparency and outstanding detail resolution. The revised crossover network, equipped with high-quality Mundorf MKP capacitors, ensures accurate signal distribution and maximum fidelity. Gold-plated WBT nextgen™ binding posts provide a stable, low-loss connection over the long term. The integrated Bass-Guide further enhances flexibility in placement by distributing low frequencies more evenly throughout the room.

Precision right up to the highest frequencies

The heart of the Reference 9 GS Edition is the advanced high-frequency system with diamond-coated DLC dome. Extremely light, exceptionally rigid, and complemented by a newly developed acoustic lens as an additional wave guide, it ensures particularly fine resolution and homogeneous dispersion. Voices and the finest details are reproduced with impressive clarity and naturalness—even in complex musical passages and at higher volumes, the sound remains confident and effortless.

Greater freedom of placement

For low and midrange frequencies, the Reference 9 GS Edition relies on a 174 mm BCT low/midrange system with the latest ceramic membrane technology. The ideal stiffness-to-weight ratio and high internal damping enable precise, contoured reproduction. The integrated bass guide distributes low-frequency signals more evenly throughout the room and provides greater flexibility in placement without compromising control and dynamics.

Finely tuned down to the last detail

The precisely engineered crossover with hand-selected components plays a major role in the outstanding sound quality. Gold-plated WBT nextgen™ terminals guarantee low-loss, secure signal transmission. The integrated room compensation allows the high frequency range to be finely adjusted by ±1.5 dB to suit your listening preferences and room acoustics – for perfectly balanced reproduction in any environment.

Elaborate construction and elegant design

The multi-layer cabinet construction with computer-optimized internal bracing effectively reduces internal resonance and creates the ideal conditions for a clean, controlled sound. Sweeping curves promote uniform sound dispersion, while the flat insulation base plate with a floating appearance and CNC-milled, PVD-coated feet underscore the high-quality appearance. Various surface finishes and magnetic fabric covers stylishly round off the uncompromising GS overall concept.

High-end Crossover

The crossover network used in the Reference 9 GS Edition has been completely redesigned and equipped with high-quality MKP capacitors from Mundorf – one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-end components. These carefully selected parts ensure minimal losses and maximum signal integrity. The result: a perfectly balanced, phase-stable sound signature with impressive dynamics, authenticity, and exceptional detail resolution.

Highlights at a glance

The Reference 9 GS Edition is a statement of the highest sound quality and German engineering. Equipped with the newly developed tweeter system with diamond-coated DLC dome and the 174 mm BCT low/midrange system, this compact 2-way loudspeaker performs at the highest level – precise, dynamic, and exceptionally spacious. The integrated bass guide provides greater flexibility in placement and more even low-frequency distribution throughout the room. The WBT nextgen™ connection terminal with room compensation allows individual fine-tuning of the high frequencies by ±1.5 dB, while the elaborate multi-layer cabinet construction with optimized internal bracing effectively reduces resonance. Whether you are a music lover, purist, or high-end fan, the Reference 9 GS Edition will impress you with its state-of-the-art technology, uncompromising workmanship, and timeless elegance.
