The entry into the Canton world
With the C 309, you get great sound for little money: the online-exclusive model benefits from the finest technical components that we borrow from our larger series. Even in this price range, high-quality titanium drivers, clamped in wave surrounds of the latest generation, and our aluminum-manganese tweeter systems ensure unique and unadulterated Canton sound. The slim 3-way floor-standing speakers look modern and neutral at the same time in their cabinets with elaborately lacquered, satin-matt baffles and the resistant structural decor in black and white. A sturdy aluminum grille gives the newly developed C 309 an attractive face. At the same time, it provides the necessary protection for the speaker systems without negatively affecting the sound of the speakers.
Technical Details
The tried and tested aluminum-manganese tweeter system transmits music signals up to 40,000 Hz and has excellent dispersion characteristics thanks to the transmission front plate. In the C 309, titanium is used as the diaphragm material in both the midrange and the low frequency range. In combination with the latest generation of the triple folded wave surround, this ensures controlled, error-free transient response up to the maximum excursion. Two 180 mm woofers are responsible for bass reproduction in the floorstanding enclosures in conjunction with a bass reflex port. And there really is plenty of it thanks to the large enclosure volume and the low tuning. Nevertheless, the frontfire bass reflex system always remains precise and clean in its playing style - even when placed close to the wall. The silver-plated screw terminals with a receptacle for cable cross-sections up to 10 mm2 offer maximum conductivity and guarantee long-term stable contact.
Genuinely attractive
Our C 309 floorstanding loudspeakers have a simple, neutral and modern design. Their harmonious proportions clothe them in an attractive cabinet with textured foil, which is given an extra dose of elegance by elaborately painted baffles in silk matt lacquers. Metal front grilles set precisely into a circumferential groove provide an additional visual highlight and also offer perfect protection for the loudspeaker chassis installed behind them. The 23-kilogram C 309s rest on slim pedestals, with the supplied metal spikes ensuring ideal coupling to the ground. Alternatively, rubber feet are included with the speakers to enable gentle placement on sensitive floors such as parquet.
