The SUB 500 R is a powerful active subwoofer that we have equipped with our largest amplifier electronics. It integrates perfectly into any home cinema and is ideal for supporting a stereo system. Its 12-inch titanium-graphite cone, triple-folded wave surround 12-inch compound oscillating system provides the desired kick in the stomach for movies, and raven-black deep bass with outstanding precision in music reproduction. The SUB 500 R uses a bass-reflex system with a downfire passive diaphragm and, despite its compact design, offers performance without sound compromises. The low-frequency system of the power cube provides breathtaking bass down to 18 Hertz. An acoustically neutral metal grille in black further enhances the SUB 500 R and provides the necessary protection without affecting the sound of the subwoofer. The cabinet surface of the SUB 500 R, which is available in white vinyl decor and black vinyl decor, is of high-quality workmanship. An additional visual highlight are the flawlessly painted baffles in black or white.
Design and technology
The active subwoofer SUB 500 R from Canton works according to the bass reflex principle with a downfire passive radiator. To guarantee precise mechanical performance, it is equipped with a generously dimensioned drive unit including the latest generation of wave beading technology. The multi-folded wave bead allows for a much larger excursion and reduces sound distortion compared to conventional beads. Titanium is used as diaphragm material. Thanks to its integrated room compensation technology with four preset sound profiles, you can adjust the subwoofer precisely to your given room acoustics and personal listening habits - conveniently from your listening position using the remote control. The SUB 500 R in the classic cube design has a powerful 750 watt power amplifier with high- and low-level inputs and, despite its living room-friendly dimensions, provides an enormous low-frequency foundation.
